The transformation of The Hague Central Station and surrounding area started in 2004. The Municipality of The Hague plans to renovate the station area to turn it into a worthy entrance to the city with its own clear identity. To this end, the Municipality of The Hague created a DBM contract and put the design, implementation and maintenance (15 years) of an underground bicycle garage beneath the Koningin Julianaplein out to tender. This garage, together with the existing national railways bicycle garage beneath the Central Station, should accommodate at least 8,500 bicycles by mid-2017. The tender was awarded to Mobilis-JP van Eesteren. The project is currently in the completion phase and after delivery, Mobilis-JP van Eesteren will be responsible for the maintenance phase for 15 years.
Our role The busy and intricate area around The Hague Central Station coupled with the amount of cables and piping in the area led To Interface to deploy an experienced Stakeholder manager at Mobilis-JP van Eesteren. The Stakeholder manager’s work started during the tender phase.
