Waalsprong is a new neighbourhood in the town of Nijmegen. The Municipality of Nijmegen created a special consortium of large Dutch construction companies to carry out the building work. This consortium is called the GrondExploitatieMaatschappij, or GEM Waalsprong for short. GEM is responsible for the building of 1,200 new homes in a new suburb, called De Citadel. The municipality concentrated on the main infrastructure; the new railway station at Lent; the Landschapszone recreation and leisure area; the Oosterhoutse Waarden nature park; sport and education provisions; the construction of windmills; and the management of the industrial areas.
Our role To Interface was responsible for the procurement and contract management of the municipal part of the commercial use of Waalsprong, both at the programme and at the project levels. Further, To Interface took on the technical and financial management of various projects in Waalsprong.
